You're going to absolutely love the designs, including: {BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S} in Aqua and White, {I LOVE PARIS} a soft and bouncy classic pink tutu, and {RAINBOW LITE} in a rainbow of soft swirling pastels.

I love to do {CUSTOM DESIGNS} so please contact me with any special requests or different sizes.

I am also designing some tutu skirts for great {LAST MINUTE COSTUMES} such as the bright, fresh {STRAWBERRY FIELDS} tutu couture skirt that can be teamed up with a sweet little top and pretty sandals for a truly delicious costume.

SPRING IS NEARLY HERE

Today could have been the perfect Spring day... except that Spring is still a couple of weeks away. A glorious day basking under blue skies, enjoying the skin-tingling warmth of the sun, and the aroma of golden wattle (with the odd ah-choo!).

Indeed it was the perfect day for a photoshoot. My little model was eager to try on the new {TUTU COUTURE} designs with plenty of trampoline jumping in between shots.

New designs include a {RAINBOW LITE} tutu (pictured), a {STRAWBERRY DELIGHT} tutu, {HIGH TEA AT TIFFANY'S} tutu, and a {VIOLET FAIRY} tutu.

Am certainly looking forward to opening my {MADEIT.COM.AU} online shop.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN

I have invested in a little bodyform as a {STAND IN MODEL} when my little {LIVING DOLLS} are unavailable (or unwilling) to model for me.

It has taken me 6 months to get my (nearly 2 year old) daughter to even put on a tutu. She now loves wearing her {BALLERINA TUTU} but has decided that a tutu is for one thing only... {DANCING}. She doesn't stand still when she's in it, thus no usable photos of her yet.

Toddlers are not temperate at the best of times, and at the worst of times are more of a tempest. I'm not sure who said it... but it had something to do with not working with animals or children.

However, {CHILDREN} are the very reason we do what we do, the very reason we love like we do, and the very reason we dream like we do. Truly amazing!

COLOURED DAYS

We are in the midst of a very cool winter in Newcastle. The sky is cloudless and you could be fooled into thinking it was a great day for the beach... until you step outside. Definitely, beanie and coats weather.

I am blessed as I watch beautiful sunsets every evening from my kitchen window, with colours of blue, violet, magenta, orange and gold sweeping across the sky... joyous, and a reminder that even if your day has been 'blue' or 'grey', there is One who is still in control of it all.

'Lavender Days' is a sweet tutu I designed using the softest lavender and wisteria tulle, finished with a wisteria bow. The tulle used in my tutu couture is from the US and is soft on little legs.

PRETTY FINDS AT SYDNEY'S QUILT AND CRAFT FAIR

I stormed the aisles at Sydney's Quilt and Craft Fair last Sunday with Mum and BFF in tow. I love the colours, fabrics, and wonderful people who put so much skill and passion into their exhibits and stores. Inspiring!

The quilts were exquisite and made me truly envious that I don't have the time to learn or indulge in such a passion. However, I did find some lovely laces and pretty pieces to add to my collection. Not entirely certain what to do with them yet, however I am sure they will feature at some time among the beautiful items to purchase at The Beehive Emporium.

It's time to get sewing.

WELCOME TO THE BEEHIVE EMPORIUM

Welcome to my first blog!

I have been super busy getting ready for the launch of my online store in July 2010 (stay tuned!). And have been having a ball despite the chaos of family life with hubby and three gorgeous children.

The concept behind The Beehive Emporium is to create a gorgeous online emporium store offering beautiful handmade items and unique gifts for you and the ones you love.

I have been working on beautiful tutu couture for little girls that is sure to make them feel like a princess, fabric bunting to decorate your home (or string it between trees for an elegant garden party), and pretty decor items.
